Am I Eating Enough???

I just don't think I have been eating enough as of late and it seems to be negatively affecting my weight loss. I was doing a "challenge" (more of a sugar detox) and was done with it last week. But instead of losing weight over 3 weeks, I gained 2 lbs! WTF?! My daily average caloric intake was 1100-1200. I work out every day 30 min to 1 hr and sometimes up to 2 hrs (on the weekend for long runs). I believe I should be eating about 1400-1500 (from the for optimal weight loss. The 1100-1200 just sounds dreadfully low and again, I GAINED weight. Help! FYI, my "diet" from here on out is eating clean and within my caloric intake and to stay within my macros (40/30/30).
FYI, I weigh 154 and am 5'3". I lost 20 lbs in the last 8 mos after baby #2. My goal weight is 135. I run and do CrossFit to give you an idea of the exercise I am doing

You already answered your own question. Correct, you are not eating enough. If you set MFP correctly, i.e. 1 lb/week loss, enter your activity level, and log your exercise, I am 100% sure it would say to eat more than 1100 calories. Whether or not you eat some or all of your exercise calories is up to you. Just like your car won't run without gas in the tank, how do you expect to make your body run and do Crossfit without fueling it? I am guessing you are eating below your BMR, which is definitely NOT good. Your BMR is the amount of calories needed to support basic body functions, like breathing, pooping, organ function, etc.
Eat. Your body needs food!0 -
No! You need to eat more. Especially with the running and crossfit. This is an awesome group here on MFP. Read this info and use the Scooby calculator. It really works! http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/680246-tdee-bmr-what-they-are-and-what-to-do-with-them0

You already answered your own question. You are NOT eating enough. You should at *least* NET 1200 calories.
Based on your numbers below your TDEE is 1962 (this is based on a more sedetary life and only exercising 1-3x per week).
Minus 15% from that you should be eating 1570 per day. You exercise 30-60 min per day which is probably an average 300 cal burn.
You shoul eat at least 1720 per day (that is your TDEE - 15% and 1/2 your exercise calories). With your macros set at 40/30/30 and if you are maintaining that - you should see weight loss.
Good luck.0 -
Thanks all! Just wanted to make sure I wasn't crazy! I actually had a personal trainer/nutrioninist tell me that the 1100 was "perfectly" in range with my exercise!! Ugh. Bit disconcerting when you hear this from someone who supposedly knows what they are talking about.0
