Protein for vegetarians

As a veggie, I have a lot of carbs - mostly vegetables, as well as carb-ish protein like beans and pulses. Is this provided for in the "balance/allowance" of daily intake for vegetarians? Eating lots of veg is good, but there is obviously an imbalance of protein if I have say, a veg soup for lunch with a wholemeal roll ...

Can anyone offer advice ?
