Greek Yogurt. I follow quite a few 'this is what i eat' blogs, and I see lots of people eating this Chobani yogurt. So I googled it to see where I could find it to buy here in Southern Ontario. Hmm can only search for locations in the states via the website.

does anyone else here in Southern Ontario know where i can find this yogurt (it comes in individual serving sizes as well as large) or a simiarl low or no cal greek style yogurt?

I live in Northern NY, right over the border from southern Ontario (about 45 minutes south of Ottawa) and many grocery stores here carry that and Oikos greek yogurt. If you live near the border, you could come stock up periodically.

 That is hillariously funny! I live 45 mins outside Toronto, and have not exessively speeding made it home frmo the Olive Garden in Amherst NY oim 3 hours lol.

With our Canadian $ being so high I have been thinking of a shopping trip, LOL just never crossed my mind that it could be a cross boarder grocery shop HAHAHAAH this really makes me crack a smile at the idea. Thanks :drinker:

I think I might have seen or heard ofOikos around my area.

I like Chobani and Oikos -- they have more yogurt cultures than many of the other greek yogurts like Fage. However, Fage officially has a special place in my heart. The flavor is just head and shoulders above the others. My guess is because it has fewer yogurt cultures. I guess that's both a good and bad thing. Brown Cow also makes a greek yogurt that is good and recently I've seen Yoplait has jumped on the bandwagon so I bet you'll be able to find it soon enough.

That being said, I'm going to start making my own greek yogurt. Tonight will be my first attempt. I can buy 2 quarts of organic 2% milk for $3.50. Or I can buy 2 containers of greek yogurt. Making it myself lets me control what's in it and cut costs way down. Yay!

    Okay
If you see me around you'll know I didn't die. I'm pretty good at following directions & I have a cast-iron stomach in case I royally screw it up so I'm not really very worried.

Im in Ontario and Ive never seen either brand in any grocery store. I know that Oikos isnt avail. in Canada at all.

If you're looking for the same texture/consistency, you can always use regular yogurt - put it in a cheesecloth and set it over a bowl in the frige for a few hours. The liquid will drain out of it and you'll be left with a denser yogurt.

I have a question when you get done making it, too. Was it worth it? I tried making my own fruit roll-ups and I just didn't think it was worth doing on a regular basis. On top of the time I spent making it, it was actually more expensive to make my own than to buy a box of already made organic fruit strips. I have a feeling the yogurt will be a different story. I just thought maybe you could save me some time.
