Best time of day for working out?

I'm wondering if there is a certain time of day during which it is most beneficial to work out. I tend to work out at night after my daughter is asleep and right before I go to bed. But then I'm yawning through half the workout, plus I'm tired after the day. Is there any evidence to suggest that exercise is more productive in the morning, afternoon, or some other time? Thanks!

Personally I've tried all different times of the day and didn't notice too much of a difference. I like afternoon from an energy standpoint, while others really enjoy the morning.
From what I've read, it's whatever time creates the most consistency. The benefits of consistently working out will far outweigh any benefit from a workout being done at a specific time (especially if it's a hassle and difficult to maintain).0 -
Right...now.
Sorry, missed it.0 -
Absolutely whenever you feel you can do it. The focus on exercising at certain times of the day is mostly so people can be consistent and build habits with working out. I'm a morning person, so I get as much of my exercise as I can in before 7 AM. Many of my friend's list are evening people and bust it out then. Whatever works is what you should do.0

I read somewhere that working out in the morning was better for you because it helps to put you in the right mindset for the day. When I do wake up early enough to go, I feel empowered for the day. I can do anything, and will stay on track.
The hardest part is actually getting out of bed at 4:30. Hence, most of my work outs are after work. Solely because I'm lazy and can't wake up. (I'm working on it)0 -

I used to be up at 3:30 for work, so I could train myself to do that again and be up hours before my baby is! It might give me energy for the day and prompt me to make a big yummy eggy protein-filled breakfast.0 -
I work out at 3 am for some reason. I dont know why but it works for me. I have hard time with sleep0

Hello, I think you should do a workout when it suits you. I find first thing in the am is a good time for me then late at night again if I can. Each person is different, I dont think it is important when you do it, just so long as you are doing it. If you put unrealistic goals on yourself you wont get to even exercise so stick with what works for you.
Hope this helps0 -
What everyone else has said - workout when it works for you and your schedule. For me, that happens to be at about 4:20 am.0

Whenever you have time and energy.0

I can proudly say I used to do it twice a day. Now I am lucky enough to get it in when I can, which lately has been in the evenings. I figure some is better than none. Just do it when you can as much as you can!0

Definitely when its feasible to you..But since you mentioned that you feel tired and sleepy during the workout when u do it as last thing at night., and as you have the flexibility to get up much early than ur baby... try that routine for a while and see among the two..what works the best.
Hope its helpful!0
