SLIPS AND TRIPS

Okay, I made my goal to lose 20 pounds by the end of January! So what is the goal for February? Based on how long it took me to lose the first 20 pounds, I think I will try for 5 pounds in February. But why only 5 pounds?? Because of SLIPS AND TRIPS!!!!
It took me close to 11 weeks (November 5 to January 25) to lose 22 pounds on MyFitnessPal. That seems like a LONG time, but if I take into account the fact that the 11 weeks includes all my little slips and trips, I can see how it did take me that long!! (not to mention the fact that Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years happened during the 11 weeks too!!)
It also makes me think that I could probably lost MORE if I hadn’t made all those little slips and trips!! And we all know what I’m talking about: the little extra bites and nibbles, the food eaten after I was supposedly “done” logging my intake on MFP, all those times I ate my calories back that I earned from exercise…the list goes on and on!!
But that 22 pounds averages out to 2 pounds a week for 11 weeks. That has to count for something!! So I resolve to feel good about my progress and not get freaked out by the more speedy weight loss of other folks on MFP. I can only do the best I can!!!
But here are some easy things I am going to do to help avoid those little slips and trips:
• Drink more water and less diet soda!
• Up the intensity on the treadmill!
• Add in some strength training!
• Try to avoid eating back the calories earned from exercise!
I would love to add more MFP folks to my list of friends; please add me if you are so inclined.
