Has anyone considered this option for an easier solution than the gym? I have been lifting regularly since January 1st but am not yet seeing the definition in my pectoral muscles that I desire. As of right now, I am happy with the (gradual) progress in most of my other muscle groups but my pecs are slow to develop.
I know calf implants have been popular for a while but I know less people with pectoral implants. Don't get me wrong, I know if I put in several years of hard work I might be able to develops some decent pecs. That just seems like a lot of work! Getting implants would be so much easier (just a few days of soreness after surgery) and obviously a lot easier to maintain.
What are the drawbacks besides cost and the small (less than 1%) chance of infection, numbness or hematoma.
Another benefit would be to be better prepared in case of being placed in a situation like Bobby Dagen in Saw 3D where he had to hang by a hook connected to his pectoral muscles.
What are your thoughts?
Well, if this is a self-esteem issue, you may want to talk with a professional.
MMM lifting since January 1st of this year (2013)? So, 28 days right? I say you stick it out another 337 days. If you are consistent and you are hitting the gym on a regular basis, you will be surprised.
Best wishes!

You know where those pecs came from? That's right. Stimpy's *kitten* fat. just vet your doctor first. you don;t want stimpy's *kitten* fat in your chest.
i wondered if there was going to be a Ren & Stimpy reference. Thank you, sir.0 -
Before I feel more guilty about anyone else taking time to send me thoughtful advice on this subject, I have a confession to make. This entire thread was meant to be a ruse. It is complete fiction. A few of my MFP friends helped me get the topic started. I have no moral objection to implants of any kind, however I would never consider them personally for the same reason I would never dye my hair if it became grey. I am comfortable in my own skin and see no benefit to an operation that has only cosmetic benefits.
If you think the idea of guys getting pectoral implants is silly, we are in agreement. However please consider the correlation in this topic and other popular cosmetic fads right now such as thigh gaps, cosmetic chin/nose reconstruction, cosmetic skin bleaching etc. Besides popularity what makes one cosmetic desire more different than another?
Be comfortable in your own skin and question the popular fad diets/cosmetic operations of today. From the point of view of an outsider not exposed to Western media, they are about as illogical as a guy getting pectoral implants.0 -
You know what- If I wanted to get breast implants/ Liposuction/ or a butt implant (which is also common) I would want advice as well. Whether it is TIPS on how to get bigger pecs or what the surgery/outcome would be like. Everyone else is pretty much just being a fiduciary (If you dont know how to pronounce Fi-DOUCHE-ee-air-ee)
My fitness pal is for support not to get laughed at so quit with the crap people. Even if its a joke to you- there is someone out there looking for this support. Even if YOU feel it is a waste of time.0 -

No shiit.
Boooooo.
Btw here is a real video on ab etching technique, not recommended for those with a weak stomach. Neat medical view of a purely esthetic procedure. Enjoy. (There are spots where I still wince and I've been present in a dozen major hip surgeries.)
