Anyone from the UK - looking for some nutritional info

I'm visiting the UK (London) for the first time, and I was totally sucked in by a window sign for a meat pie and a pint of Fuller's for 10 pounds outside the Fullers Ale House.... I couldn't say no...

Any idea on how many calories one of those things has? It was a chicken chorizo meat pie... I could estimate the filling, but I have no clue on the scrumptious (likely high cal) crust. :)

Luckily, I spent the morning and the better part of the afternoon walking around London to work some of the calories off.

What kind of pasty? Was it puffed up on the top or flat?

Depends on the size of the pie, was there pastry just on the top and the filling in a dish or was there a pastry base too?

Puff pastry is 376 cals for 100g approx.

Uh oh that's at least a million cals...you've got alot more walking to do...
  • Depends on the size of it but pies are *not* good dude...

I would hazard a guess at 600-700 cals. 40g of Chorizo is 200cals...
Try looking at pies in the fridge in Tesco etc that are about that size, chicken and whatever will do as long as it has the right kind of pastry.

You're looking at a good 200 in the pint.
  • I used to eat here:

    http://www.squarepie.co.uk/Healthy homepage

According to that Chicken, ham and asparagus is 243 cals per 100g and their classic pies are 280g so that is 680 calories...

That's about 3 hours of brisk walking for the pie, and another for the pint...
