Under on Calories but Over on Carbs

Help! I'm eating a mostly vegetarian diet. I was told to make sure to eat beans, Portabella mushrooms, and I've kept cheese in my diet. But my carbs are consistently over, and my protein is low. I'm also having a tough time getting to 1,200 calories. Any ideas on a vegetarian form of protein that doesn't have carbs?

I asked for help with this issue yesterday, but no response. I added fish back into my diet at dinner, but the carbs are still too high and the protein is still too low. I feel full and not like I'm starving, but I'm concerned that the low protein is going to make me thoroughly exhausted. Should I throw in the towel with mostly vegetarian, or am I missing a step here?

Sorry wish I could answer you question but I'm in the same boat as you. My exercise is the only thing that puts my carbs under. I usually don't eat my exercise calories back but is saves me on the carbs.....I am replying to your post because I have asked several questions on here and I can't get people to answer....just wanted to let you know that I have read you topic but can't answer it sorry.

Soy beans might help your protein but they won't help the carb thing. Good luck

It's more than possible to increase protein/decrease carbs on a meat free diet. I'm vegan and I eat less than 50g net carbs a day. I use a lot of protein powders and high protein bread (look up "Joseph's bakery lavash") and I don't eat fruit.

My doctor tells me to count both. Once you reach one or the other you are done eatting for the day. I get 1800 calorties or 203 carbs.
