Thanks Goodness for fruit and veggies :)

Ok, so I have been eating healthy (regularly) for over a year now. Like many of you, alot of my cals come from fruit, veggies, lean meats, dairy, etc. Anyways, last week, I ran out of fruit and veggies for a day (fresh, canned and frozen). I saw it coming the days prior but figured the family could make it with no fruit and/or veggies for 1 day (geesh, we used to do this all the time)! Well, yes, we did survive (obviously) with meat, cheese, carb foods, pantry foods, etc. but holy crow, was I ever HUNGRY and CRANKY! By 4pm I had already eaten up my calorie allocation for the day and by 6:30pm I was STARVING!

I guess I always knew fruit and veggies helped to fill me up with little cals but this was proof!! It makes me wonder how those who do not like fruit and veggies survive calorie restricting without feeling hungry all the time!
