HELP! Dinner on Thur whilst on detox - advice?

HELP PLEASE!

I've been on the Clean & Lean 14 Day Kickstart Diet for the last 5 days and I'm going around friend's house for dinner on Thursday and she doesn't know I'm not eating carbs/sugar. What do you think I should do: should let her know beforehand that I am a bit picky about my food this week and politely ask for something that I could eat, or should I leave it and just not eat certain things on the night? I don't want to be rude and ask for a salad beforehand, because I know this can be very annoying! But I also don't want to hurt her feelings if she cooks something delicious which I would not be able to eat. There will be other people at dinner, so it's not like she could cook something completely different just because I'm coming....

I really don't know what is the best way to handle it - I really want to see my friends and don't want to sacrifice this social situation only because I've decided to do a 2-week detox! But at the same time I am very determined to complete 2 weeks of this plan without any 'cheat meals' etc.

Please help and offer your advice!

Thanks!

I would let her know in advance you are a picky eater at the moment :).

How well do you know her? That will dictate how much you can tell her (either the whole truth, or just "I'm on a restricted diet at the minute")

Offer some suggestions as to what you CAN eat, or offer to bring something along.

Just let her know before hand that your on Detox and that you will pac yourself something for the evening, people certainly can understand a special diet these days.

    Good luck:bigsmile:

Let her know you're on a 2 week detox, and bring your own dinner.

Thank you for your advice guys - much appreciated!

I let my friend know and she was fine - she even told me what the menu for the night would be and I now know I can have canapes and instead of mushroom and leek tart for main she will prepare me a mushroom and leek omelette! Of course I won't be able to have the dessert or cocktails (sigh!), but I'm now much more calmer and confident :-)

    Thank you!
