Ive been feeling really discouraged lately as my weight loss has stopped. In order to keep from going crazy I hide the scale and deceided to focus on how much healthier I feel and not how much I weigh. So this morning I looked in the mirror and saw something I lost 6 years ago and thought would never come back. My waistline!!! I curve IN at the waist again! I was so happy I could'nt contain myself.

The morale of this story is when the scale is your enemy the measuring tape can be your best friend.

Has anyone else found a body part that they thought was gone forever?

  • I was on the treadmill at the gym the other day, and when I looked in the mirror I saw definition in my arms. Muscle! There are muscles in my arms, not just fat!

    Congratulations on your persistence! :flowerforyou:

I went through a similar event when one day I'm wearing a size 40 waist and in no time I'm in a size 36 and they are loose so here I come size 34?

I'm noticing a slow down in my rapid weight loss and that's a bit disappointing because I was hoping it would keep going to closer to my goal but I'm happier with the way I look. Now I'm just focusing on recovering from a repaired shoulder doing muscle toning with weights as much as the post op will allow and tightening up the rest of my body until I can get the momentum going once again.

I'm going to get there despite the scales.
