Adding Food With No Information

So today I had my first piece of cake in, like, a month. The sugar rush I felt almost put me into a diabetic coma. I went to add it to my diary, but of course it wasn't already in the list to pick from. I know the store it was purchased from, but it's from their personal bakery (not a box cake). I have no nutritional information on this cake, but I want to be accountable for it. Does anyone know how to add something to your diary when you have no nutritional information on it? Thanks!

Look for the closest thing you can find in the database. That's the best you can do whenever you are presented with an unknown.
  • Let's start by saying I'm happy I'm not a calorie counter. MFP is not all that accurate in that department. I had a slice of lemon cake and spent at least 10 minutes trying to figure out how to add it. I finally went with the BC lemon cake w/frosting. It didn't add any carbs or sugar...REALLY! I tend to write it in my food notes when something doesn't come up. I'm quite anal and would be quite upset about this mishap if I were a cal-counter

I am also having cake today. I just looked up "white cake" and picked one that looked close.
