Hi bit about me: I have always yo-yo'd in regards to to my weight (last year I did weight watchers. Did really well and just stopped after 6 months. Refuse to that this time, as I need to re-educate myself about nutrition, portion control and what it actually means to lose weight for good.
When I was 17 I lost 4 stone and not afraid to say that I did not look good for it. I'm now 23 and Uni plus living with a partner (and comfort eating... sob) has resulted in piling on the weight up to 193lbs and I feel like a giant whale. It was the man-sized portions, take away's (as I speak OH is having an Indian and want to throttle him! He's getting evils over the laptop ;D) , chocolate (was weakness) and lack of exercise. Positive thing is that I do not smoke or drink very often, so that is to my advantage. I want to lose 50lbs and keep it off for good. On day 6 now and doing well and day 7 since I have had chocolate (given up chocolate helped me lose the weight last time, so doing it again. Positive thing is that I am not even craving it any more.). Exercising regularly and keeping under calorie count. My problem is the sugar carbs, does anyone else have this problem? I seem to be over a lot of the time. It drives me nuts! Even when I do not eat very sugary things (with the exception of the two 'fruit twist' cans I have had, but that was my 'treat' of the day and honestly rarely have fizzy drinks, will not be getting any more for time being). I am allocating one 'treat' a day, so that I do not relapse and it helps me to feel as though I am having something and not depriving myself. I understand it is the fruit, but as I have such a sweet tooth, fruit is the thing that curbs that craving. Does anyone have any tips how to lower the sugar carbs? Thanks in advance and looking forward to hearing your stories as well
