New here (introducing myself)

Hi.
I am new here. Someone suggested that this is a great site to track food--somewhat
easier than others, and it's true.
I am a food addict. I am in a 12 step program although there are not meetings close
by.
Recently my living situation changed. Before I was in a supportive homelife as far as
weight loss goes, but I had no access to health care as a diabetic. But my blood sugar
was within normal and healthy ranges due to diet and exercise. In my new environment,
in a new relationship--my other half is a former foodie who had gastric bypass. He began
drinking again, and he is extremely moody to live with. He does all the cooking, which is
kind of different. He was cooking rich foods and things I shouldn't have. That changed.
I was relieved. His drinking thing is difficult for me to cope with and I am having some
difficulty in "medicating with food," again--which I really didn't need. So this is a welcome
and much-needed support system for me as I try to cope with my environment and being
a compulsive overeater and a diabetic who is struggling to get on track again and have good
blood sugar readings. (I was sick for 6 months and the antibiotics made me very very even
sicker). During my downtime being sick I gained about 15 pounds.
