Trying to go the gym for the first time in a long time.....

....my head keeps putting up roadblocks as to why I shouldn't go tonight!!!!! I have been working out at home as I feel judged when I go to the gym. When I loss weight before I had my baby last year I didn't feel that way - I felt confident. Need some motivation.....ahhhhhhhh

Please try not to think about everyone else there. A lot of people are probably thinking the same thing you are. Looks you get may be them thinking "I hope she doesn't judge me, I'm not doing as well as I want..."

Most people in the gym are only thinking about their workouts, their own insecurities, and about other personal problems. Just get in, do your thing, and pretty soon it will become old hat.

You are soooo right!!! Everyone is in the same boat and really I guess I'm there for me and me only and I will just get back in to the routine of doing my thing like I did such a long time ago. It's weird though, when I start to go to the gym the first time a few years ago I was around 30 pounds heavier! I just went in, got in the zone and left. I guess I just like working out so much more when I'm toned and when everything feels familiar....I'll get there....again....one work out at a time. Thanks so much for the eye opener!
  • Wow you've lost 16lbs!!! Well don't give up now. If you don't feel comfortable at your gym start researching another in your area. My gym is smaller and more family oriented, but I love it. I costs more than the competitors but for that reason I don't mind paying more. You have to feel comfortable. So until you transfer gyms, get moving! You've got goals to accomplish and a young one to keep up with. God bless!

    So true -- good advice.
