Meal replacement shakes. Any recommendations?

I've been thinking about trying meal replacement shakes to kick start my weight loss. I eat pretty well (about 1500-1800 healthy calories a day) and exercise (weight training 2x week; cardio 3-5x a week) but my progress is really slow. I'm over 40 and my metabolism is slowing down so I'm considering a liquid based diet to get the number on the scale to go down. Anyone have success with meal replacements? If so, what kind?

    They won't help.

They're not very filling, unlike real food. Sick with real food for more satiation.

You are already doing what you need to do.

Meal replacement shakes won't do anything about make you hungry and possibly in danger of binging because your body wants real food.

Exercise raises your metabolism...so if you are eating correctly, I don't understand why you think your metabolism is getting slower. It doesn't just all of a sudden one day decide to slow down because of age. It slows because most aging people aren't dong what you are doing: exercise!

I've been using slim fast or the krogers brand slim right. I take in 1500 to 2000 calories a day. I exercise 3 to 5 times a weej. I like the slim rite meal replacements. I get vitamins and nutrients I don't usual take in. Combine that with the large amount of cardio I do and it works for me. You have to remember to eat a few things you like during the week. Or in other words cheat on your diet. Just remember to burn more calories.
