For the mommies out there...
Just curious...
But what (other than the obvious of "being late") were the symptoms that you had that prompted you to get a preggers test?
Cause I've looked up the signs on the medical websites and nothing applies to me other than "being late." And I don't want to waste money on a test in case I am just late which has honestly happened before. And my husband doesn't need a heart attack right now.

you could wait another couple of weeks, I mean if you're not you'll have saved yourself the price of a test. If you are, then chances are you still will be in a couple of weeks. I don't think husbands hear very much difference between "I'm 5 weeks pregnant" and "I'm seven weeks pregnant"
with my 2nd one I didn't even notice I was late and the first sign was nausea, then when I counted back I found out I was about 7 weeks gone, and asked my husband to buy a test, which was positive. I have a friend who went all the way to 5 months before finding out she was pregnant, because the only symptom she had was indigestion and as she has PCOS it was normal for her to miss her period for several months. She only found out because a doctor examined her stomach to try and find the cause of the constant indigestion.... well he found it all right lol and booked her in for a scan.0 -
i gained 10lbs in one week eventhough i watch what i eat and exercise daily. really bloated. very emotionally, balling when i was watching tinkerbell lol0

Id rather know than sit there mulling over it not knowing. A test is a few bucks at wal mart...0

Dollar store tests are great. And a dollar.
Mine were all different. My first - before I was even late, my boobs KILLED. I couldn't even lay down to sleep. My second was just a general queasy feeling that I couldn't shake. My third... I just knew. Woke up and had that 'well crap' feeling. Lol.
That sounds bad. I was shocked but it turned out just right.0 -
with my first I was late and had nausea
with my second..I knew the moment I got pregnant...It wasn't on purpose either.0 -
First symptom for me with all three were very sore boobs.0

terrible nausea. i couldnt even drink my morning coffee. And I was tired all of the time.0

Sounds legit0 -
I had NO idea I was pregnant. My friend told me on April Fools day she was engaged and I said yea & I'm pregnant. Thinking she was kidding. Boy was I wrong! I had NO signs what so ever that I was pregnant. LoL0

Ultra sensitive nipples0
-
The boobs...my god the boobs!!! They were SOOOOOO freakin sore! That and I just had a feeling.0
-
Sore breasts, nausea, and most of all, an aversion to strong smells.0
-
Sensitive nipples, sense of smell was insanely stronger, and I got car sick (which never happens).0

Nada! I didn't find out until I was 5 1/2 months along. Spend the $10 and find out.0 -

breasts aching is another sign, but that didn't start until i was about 8 weeks pregnant. also more pain and cramping in that area... being late, obviously! you could even take a test now if you wanted to know. i found out when i was only like 5 weeks pregnant or a week after my missed period.0 -
I was eating everything in sight and was losing weight. My craving was mexican pizzas from taco bell with sour cream and a large soda...everyday...for about 3 weeks. If my boyfriend didn't eat and drink his food fast enough, I ate his too...:laugh:0
-
I had mild cramping and AF wasn't due for like a week! I would just pick up a test at Walmart and find out for sure... Good Luck!0
-
Sick as a dog. But I have also heard the dollar store tests work well. I would want to know!!!0
-
Both times...I just knew.
I tested the day I was due for AF and was positive.0 -
I'd just get a test from Dollar Tree (or similar). That way you're only out $1 and you'll know. Not knowing is just added stress for me. Good luck either way0
-
Just wait another week. My doctor wouldn't see me until 8 weeks anyway.
Use the dollar store tests, they are pretty accurate after you are late.
My only symptoms at first (other than being late) were tiredness, raw chicken made me feel queasy, and I wasn't interested in ice cream (it was summer). It wasn't until I was about 7-8 weeks that I started having nauseau and other symptoms.0 -
Again, the dollar store sells them for $1 and they are accurate. They usually have them at the counter so you will have to ask for one.0
-
My first symptoms were extreme fatigue and crazy headaches! Those both hit before I was even late.0

Different women have different signs of pregnancy... even then it can differ between pregnancies...
I didn't find out I was pregnant until around 8-9 weeks pregnant... I had just gotten off of BC and didn't have any periods after the BC induced one.... which didn't surprise me at all because I had irregular periods before getting on BC... But I wasn't hungry... at all. Food tasted weird, particularly Italian food. I was super lethargic and just wanted to sleep.... a lot... I was pretty close to being narcoleptic the whole time. I didn't have the typical signs of pregnancy... the morning sickness, sore boobs, etc.
And I agree... just spend the money on the test... they aren't that much.0 -
For me was being so tired after work and going to take a 'nap' and waking up the next morning. Happened for all 3 of my pregnancies.0
-
I didn't know I was pregnant with my kid until I didn't have a period where there should have been one. I had no morning sickness, my boobs acted normally, everything was normal. When I got my ultrasound done, I was 6 and a 1/2 weeks....talk about surprise lol. Thankfully my 1 year old was healthy :flowerforyou:
The only thing might be stress (I know if I am stressed out near tom it starts late, and I mean about 10 days late) so I say wait another week and see.0 -
My only sign for a couple of weeks was being late. I didn't get any symptoms until about seven weeks. I second the Dollar Store tests. And Wal-Mart has an $0.89 test also.0
-
With my first a ragging appetite, I was literally hungry all the time, then would promptly puke.
With my second, I had a super sniffer, I puked in front of a customer b/c his breath was really bad, thats when I knew I was pregnant.
I never had luck with home test though, with my first I was 13 weeks along before I got a + with my second I was 9 weeks along.0 -
I was weird, I had all the period symptoms minus bleeding at the time I was supposed to. I thought it was a bit odd, but since I wasn't only birth control, I had kind of irregular periods, so I brushed it off. A week or so later, I had an old college friend come for a weekend visit, we had a few glasses of wine, nothing crazy, didn't get drunk. The next morning I was tossing my cookies like nobody's business. Now that was super strange, even at my worst in college, I never threw up in the morning. After a day or two of contemplation I decided to go get a pregnancy test, and sure enough it was positive.
Luckily the wayward night of drinking before I knew had no negative effects on my awesome little boy. And just as a side note, don't worry, the cheapest pregnancy test available is just as reliable as the expensive ones, you just need to read the instructions more closely so you can interpret results correctly0 -
The sooner you find out if you are PG, the sooner you can start taking care of the new life inside you. Pregnancy is no time for dieting to lose weight, but to eat healthier and to take your prenatal vitmains, esp. folic acid.
So......Take the test!0
