dumb question of the day

So i'm sure this has been asked before, but my search skills are lacking currently.

I have to get a new wedding ring, my old one doesn't fit me any more and it's tungsten so I can't resize it. I have a little plastic doodad on it to keep it on my finger, but it's super uncomfortable.

Before I buy a new ring, i want to know if my hands will increase in ring-size if i continue my strength training and increase my weight lifting. I'm not going to NOT do those things if that's the case, i'd just like to know before i buy a new ring and have to have it replaced again in a year or two.

anyone have previous experience with rings getting tighter/looser after weight lifting?

No direct experience, but I'd say it's unlikely. You have no muscles in your fingers, only tendons. The muscles are in the palm and forearm. So even if you were using grips to strengthen your hands, it would be the palm and forearm that grew, not the fingers. I don't believe (but I could be wrong) that you'd see tendon growth.

So that leaves only two sources to bulk your fingers - fat and water. I guess if you take creatine supplements, it causes water retention, but I think that's mostly in the muscle. Something to think about though.
