On the great advice of here i brought a big tub of protein powder so i can make myself a shake and replace one of my meals. The customer service guy was really helpful and after i explained my goals he showed me a protein shake brand and i brought it. I would just eat the shake when you would otherwise eat protein.

i think you might be misunderstanding the role of supplementation. If there are gaps in your nutrition, then supplement accordingly. You don't arbitrarily replace some meal with a shake. What would be the purpose of that?

Personally I only eat my protien shakes after I lift in the early morning so it is a replacement for breakfast. On the other hand mine are not exactly straight protien shakes; the normal would be: 1 scoop protien powder, 12 oz. 1% milk, 1/2 cup blueberries, 1 banana, 1 cup spinage (kale, dandilion, or any other green leaf). This gives me a little over 400 calories and keeps me happy until lunch time.

yeah the man told me to mix it in with milk so i was getting enough calcium
  • I have protein shakes so that I feel fuller longer or on days I am doing weights. It does not make sense to replace a meal with it since it has like 220+ calories for a cup (powder mixed with milk).

I replace a meal a day with Shakeology. I vary when I drink it because I don't ever like to get bored. Sometimes in the morning if I am in a rush... or as an afternoon snack... or post workout. If you are using as a meal replacement, do what works for you!

If you are working out, try post workout within 30 minutes.

I use mine for "breakfast" because I am not a morning eater, and was having trouble meeting my calorie goals without being uncomfortable. I also use it after working out when often the thought of solid foods makes me want to vomit.

So, I make cold brewed coffee, add Greek yogurt (when I am being good-half and half when bad) and protein powder, for breakfast. And after workouts I have been doing protein powder with greek yogurt and/or milk.

But I absolutely wasn't going to eat a real breakfast, so it isn't exactly a replacement, it's more of a supplement. So I don't know how that fits into your goals.
