MFP exercise cals?

Can someone tell me if the MFP exercise burn numbers already deduct your resting BMR expenditure?

Thanks

i believe that MFP simply calculates the calories burned through exercise and doesn't include the calories burned just by being alive for that period of time. i saw someone else on these message boards say that once. i couldn't tell you for sure though. it might be in the FAQ.

I believe they do. Their calculations settings figure out your rate of calorie burn without doing anything first, then you say how much you want to lose a week and it creates the deficit. Ie. It has already figured out your calorie intake for doing nothing except changing channels and breathing.

Just use them as they are, the site uses complementary algorithms that go along with its method of BMR and Activity calculation.

If you aren't getting results, adjust. If you are only exercising an hour or two, the numbers are negligible, anyway. You'll make that many errors in food calories daily. It's not an exact science, and the only way to know if something works is by trying it for three or four weeks and adjusting if necessary.

..also, sharpie, I wanted to add - with only 12 pounds to lose, it's going to take you a while, and you are going to have to try a lot of different things. Good luck. :flowerforyou:
