how many calories in a recipe

hi everyone I have a question about calculating the calories in a recipe. If I create a recipe with the following ingredients (calories in each shown):
1 piece pork bacon--42
7.6 ounces boneless skinless chicken breast--278
1 can chilies--15
1 can ranch style beans--420
1 can rotel--62
2 cups chicken broth--20
1 tablespoon olive oil--120
slice onion--10
that adds up to 967 calories.
now when I am finished I weigh the entire recipe and it weighs 50 ounces
so 967/50 = 19.34 calories per ounce
so if I eat 10 ounces that would be about 193 calories.
Does anyone see any reason why this is wrong?
the principle behind it and the math both seem good to me, but I just want a second opinion, as I make a lot of stuff from scratch and this is the only way I can think of to calculate the calories.
thanks for any replies.

Create a recipe into the 'my recipe' section (under the food tab) and let the system figure it out for you!

You can create recipes under the Food tab at the top and then you just enter in the number of servings and it will tell you how many calories per serving.

If you want to create a recipe and find out the caloric value and nutritional value, I suggest you go to Sparkpeople.com. They have a
calorie calculator and I use it all the time.. really good tool :)
