Is it bad that I eat 2000 calories a day?

I'm trying to lose 15 pounds, and I can't help to eat about 2000 a day. If this is bad then what should I do to cut down on what I eat?

if you have your activity level right on mfp and have it set to lose .5 or 1 lb a week, eat the calorie goal that it gives you. You can also check these numbers with scoobycaloriecalculator.com
You did not give enough information to properly answer your question. Calories in vs. calories out. Don't create too big of a deficit or too small of one. Find your middle ground and enjoy success!0 -

and im 5'8 165 pounds...
I go to the Gym everyday to play basketball just for fun, but my job is a dance Choreographer and everyday im practicing so im pretty exhausted after that.
and I dont know what a BMI or Mfp and all that stuff is, I was just told to come on this site and follow the rules lol0 -

Your amount of calories is not bad if it is balanced by increased activity. I like to eat, so I run. I would rather exercise more and eat more than not exercise and have to severely cut calories. You will be more likely to stick with weight loss if it is enjoyable and you don't feel like you are punishing yourself.0

It might help if you make you diary public. You might be tracking your calories improperly. Are you weighing food or "guesstimating"?0

If you are dancing and going to the gym, I would just wait and see how much weight you loose and then adjust your calories appropriately. I wouldn't think 2,000 cal is to much for you as active as you are.0

It depends on several things: height, activity level, age, gender, weight, etc. Myfitnesspal will give you a good amount of what you should be eating.0

You did make it public. I'd suggest you just pay more attention to ensuring your portion sizes are accurately measured - weight is best if you can manage it, but if you've not got access to one then use cups. Anything is better than guessing. Your brain can trick you when it's hungry!
You seem like you lead a pretty active lifestyle. Eat at 2000 calories, carefully accounted for, give it a couple months. You don't have much to lose so it won't fly off. Have fun - you're 18! :happy:0 -
