hello So I was wondering if anyone could take a look at my food diary and let me know if theres anything Im doing wrong/could be doing better... I'm not hungry AT ALL but feel that Im not eating enough that could lead to little progress...
I'm 5'7, 140lbs and looking to weigh about 120-115ish. I'm "chubby" 140lbs, believe me!
THANK YOU!

Ok, should I assume you ate more on previous days than you logged? Because if you didn't, I suggest you seek help from your doctor as to how you should be eating.
Assuming you had other foods you didn't log, you should know that popsicles, italian ice, cough drops, crispy crowns and the like just aren't very nutritional. Try swapping out popsicles for homemade yogurt and fruit pops. Try making sweet potato fries or a regular sweet potato for the crispy crowns. Hummus, peanut butter and the like are going to provide you with healthy fats, as opposed to the chips and salsa.
You're going in the right direction, but you can make better choices for sure, and you're not eating enough. With better choices will come more calories, and your body will thank you for that.0 -
I hope you are kidding here.. Seriously. If not, you need to eat more.0

This... if you are not kidding please speak with a doctor.
Halls is not a breakfast food... neither are popsicles.
You are not eating nearly enough and not eating nutritious foods at that.0 -
I also hope you're kidding - or not logging. If this is actually what you are eating you have a lot more serious issues than being 'chubby' (which I highly doubt since you are 5'7 and 140lbs.)0

You are well within the healthy weight range for your height. I am the same height and your current weight is below my goal.
112 is below the health range for 5'7".
If you feel "chubby", i would recommend working on strengthening and toning, not losing any weight
And no, you are clearly not eating enough. To the point where you are in the eating disorder range if you continue.
Avoid processed foods as much as you can. Eat real whole foods, drink lots off water, and focus on health and fitness.0 -
You said previously that you are recovering from bullimia/binge eating but I think anorexia could be next if you aren't careful. PLEASE see a doctor sweetie.0

Hi... I'm 5'7" and would welcome you to add me if you're looking for examples on healthy diets. Granted, I'm not 140 (I'm 161), but I've been steadily losing weight and getting solid nutrients in every day. I would consider myself a fit, but definitely not skinny, 160, with my eventual goal being 130-140. I worry that you may have some issues with eating (which would explain your comment on chubby 140). A good balance of nutrients and a little physical activity will get you to your ideal body type goals. You also may want to consider taking your goal down to about .5-1 lb a week also. Two pounds a week is not necessary for your BMI range.0

OH NO, of course I didn't eat that little... I was sick those days and wanted to start the whole food logging thing so ignore that completely... sorry about that... haha0

At 5'7" you should have a higher NET then 1200. And you are not even meeting that most of the time.
And your goal weight is most likely too low. You may want to simply tone and stop worrying about the scale.0 -
What days are we supposed to look at? The only days you've logged that I can see, you're severely undereating to the point where it's scary. Yesterday wasn't too bad, but other than that...? Even yesterday you ate too little.
Your weight is already on the normal (to low) side for your height. If you believe you're chubby, it's likely because you have very very low muscle mass -- and undereating will only cause you to continue to lose muscle mass.
You need to eat more (MINIMALLY, 1200 calories when you don't exercise, although I firmly believe that's way too low) and add activity into your day to build muscle, which in the process will help with the fat. Continuing to undereat will make you very sick long before it will make you thin
Please don't disregard the opinions of people here. Your health should definitely come before your weight. Take care0 -
Long story short - do these things:
1. Set your profile to lose .5-1 pound a week. You don't need to really lose anything, but if you insist, keep it low.
2. Start weight lifting... this will make you solid.
3. Eat your exercise calories back... never net below 1200.
4. Never eat below your BMR... Don't know what it is? MFP has a calculator for you: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/tools/bmr-calculator
5. Expect to gain weight when you first start adjusting your calorie intake. If your body is used to being straved it will hold on to nutrients like crazy... wait about 2-4 weeks for your body to adjust and then watch the magic happen! I've lost 4 pounds in two weeks and I'm eating between 1500-1800 a day.0 -
PS - your BMR is at the very least 1400... probably even more. Never eat less than this.0

Your Calorie intake in all over the place. One day it's high the next very very low.
You need to be more consistent and with that said you need to EAT MORE!!!
UP YOUR CAL0 -

Very wise words - this should be on the homepage for every person who is new to MFP :flowerforyou:0 -
