Fruits (mainly oranges, bananas, berries, avacado)

Veggies (leaf lettuce, spinach, kale/collards, tomatoes, carrots, yams, summer squash, zucchini, bell peppers, hot peppers, broccoli, cauliflower, winter squash, onions, potatoes, green beans.....if they have something weird I haven't tried before I might buy it to give it a whirl.)

    Grapefruit juice
    Skim milk
    Eggs
    0% greek yogurt
    2% cottage cheese
Reduced fat cheeses (shredded, sticks, and slices)

    Tortillas
Canned Beans (many various kinds.....there's not a bean I don't like)
    Canned tomatoes
    Salsa
Oats (steel cut and old fashioned)
Cereal (usually frosted mini wheats and lucky charms)
    Graham crackers
Triscuits (hubby eats them almost every night with cheese)

    And that's about it.
I make our own bread, and most of our other baked goods (cookies, muffins, cake).
And we buy meat in bulk a couple of times a year from local farmers/ranchers.

My most common items vary from week to week but the things I buy at least once or twice per month are as follows: Yoplait Greek 100 yogurt, Emerald 100 calorie nut packs (I can't make my own snack sizes--not enough will power), spinach, protein powder, eggs or egg whites, light cheese sticks, Mission carb balance tortillas, chicken breasts, baby carrots, apples, bananas, frozen veggies, salsa, frozen fruit, almond milk, mini sweet peppers, black beans, lowfat shredded cheese, cottage cheese, natural peanut butter, squash or a sweet potato, and a piece of fish. I always must have some chocolate too so I have jello sugar free pudding snacks...and I can't live without my coffee and tea.

    chicken
    nuts
    wine (gotta have my vices!)
    low-cal yoghurt
fruju (like a fruit juice popsicle, NZ thing. the ones i have atm are passionfruit and orange sorbet in a pineapple ice shell, 70 cal)
a variety of fresh fruit and veg
green tea teabags (prefer the ones with jasmine or lemon
lemons to put in water or zest into salads
    crackers
hummus or kumara (NZ sweet potato) dip
snack packs (mini kids lunchbox sizes) of rice crackers, weight watchers çhips', raisins, cheese and crackers - preportioned = you know exactly how much of everything is in it
  • Gluten free whole grain bread
Lemon juice (to add to my ice water)
    Hearts of romaine lettuce
    Bananas
Chobani Greek yogurts (pineapple for eating whenever or for breakfast and plain for making smoothies)
    Almond milk
    Peanut butter
    Eggs
    String cheese
Apples, oranges, mangoes, lots of fruits, beets, carrots, spinach, and cucumbers for juicing
Chia seeds for extra fiber and Omega 3 oil
Yummy trail mix for those times I need a quick protein/sugar fix when my blood sugar gets too low or when I'm not taking in -enough calories
Skinless, boneless chicken breasts or tenders
    Salmon and tilapia
Cottage cheese and Triscuits for a quick, filling snack
Fresh and frozen broccoli and cauliflower
Dark chocolate for those sweet/salty cravings (I need to only eat a small piece and it works!)

I try to buy fresh and organic whenever possible. I avoid buying processed foods. If something has more that 5 ingredients or ingredients that I can't pronounce then it's not worth it. I avoid buying anything that's "low-fat" or "fat-free" because extra sugar and/or salt is added to make it taste better. I also try to avoid buying anything that contains high fructose corn syrup. I'm also trying to avoid obvious sources of gluten because I personally feel gluten causes too much bloating and excess stomach fat for me.
