How hard should a push?

I work a active job, stocking groceries which helps me move all day and lift things. I've lost about 30 lbs since starting this job 3 years ago but was diagnosed with bicep tendonitis in the process. Any suggestions for this outta shape chick with not doing too much too fast?

Hate to sound like a broken record but if you want to get into weight training then Stronglifts 5x5 sounds like a good fit for you. It would allow/encourage you to start out nice and light then move forward with the program and allow you to find your own limits then surpass them assuming you're not overly hampered by your condition.

Also, that program doesn't have any exercises at its core that are directly targetting the biceps.

Since weight loss seems to be the goal, cardio and circuit training with compound exercises that don't directly target the biceps. You can start off with one set per exercise, choosing something like 5-8 exercises, when slowly work your way towards 2-3 sets, maybe even 4 depending on how many exercises you choose and how much time you allot for exercise per day :)

Sorry about the tendinitis. I've got posterior tibialis tendinitis from doing too much jumping around and I know it's no fun
