hi my names paul and im new to this im looking at loosing 6 stone (sory dont know wot that is in pounds and kg) could any one please give me some advice on what portion size i shoul be trying to get to on meals and i have recently joined a gym so what are the best exersises to do at the gym thankyou paul.

Hi Paul,
I am looking to lose 8 stone. This time last year, i used MFP and lost 2 stone. I'm starting again.
To be honest, my first couple of weeks was a lot of trial and error. I hadnt been to the gym in years, so I tended to try all of the machines in the first couple of sessions, and see what I liked. for me at first, it was the cross trainer, so in my first month, i just used the cross trainer, and built up the length of time i did it when i got fitter. then i would go and use the cross trainer for 15 minutes, and do some of the bike, and then the rowing machine and stuff. Tbh, i hate the bike with a passion, so my thinking is better to do 40 minutes on the cross trainer, than do the bike amnd hate it so much that you only get 15 minutes workout from it.
also, with portion size, i cut mine down at first to 75% of what it was, and saw what that came up as on MFP, and then adjusted accordingly as the days and weeks went on. There is no need to get it 100% perfect from day one, and eased me into the programme.0
