Hi! I signed up to the site a few days ago, and I think its great!

I'm from Wales, and am a student, at university studying computer science. I'm 6ft 3, and I think I'm about 16 stone, I haven't checked for a while, but that's about right I think. I'm aiming to to lose about 1.5 stone (21lb) over the next 2 - 3 months for summer! This aim will get me near the upper level of my 'healthy' BMI. I plan to do this by watching what I eat, and doing a bit more exercise.

I came here as I was trying to look up information on some food, I think it might have been on calories for a Big Mac.... wooops! I started my own spreadsheet a few days ago, and built up my own small database of foods, by taking it off packets as I went along - then filled in a table to keep track of my daily intake. This routine fell apart after a week!

Then I decided I'd try this out, after I found that the main site was free. I was dubious at first, whether it would be too annoying or fiddly to get what you wanted, but it has been great! It is much more useful, and now there is a big database for me to choose from already, I've updated a few incorrect things and added a few foods of my own already :D. The hardest thing for me will be leaving room for when I'm out drinking, as I like ale and lager - I'll have to switch to shorts a bit earlier in the night perhaps!

Anyway, see you around!

Welcome to MFP! I like the way you stumbled across this site. I was instructed to use this site by my dietitian. When I use this site and keep track of what I eat, I lose weight. Otherwise, I don't lose or I gain.

Luckily, I don't have the same issue with drinking. I always have to be the designated driver for my husband when we go out.

    Good luck!

Welcome to the site. Great tools to help you lose weight here. I also love a IPA or Widmer occasionally so I hear you.
