What should my priority be?

Just a general question for y'all.

Going on vacation for a week starting tomorrow. 4 of those days will be on a cruise, so I know there will be tons of food all around me, and all sorts of excuses, etc.

I keep hearing that a lot of times when things kind of stagnate, the best way to get them going again (if I'm reading all the posts correctly) is to blow the diet, change things up for a while. That being said, I plan on the following for the next week. Am I screwing myself, setting myself up for success or does it even matter that much?

Not planning on watching my calories at all while on the boat (4 days)....the way I see it, Its vacation so have fun. I'm not a big sweets guy, so those won't tempt me, and if I just avoid constant eating, eat 3 meals a day (normal sized meals, not planning on gourging myself.....just don't plan on holding back because something may be 'fatty' is all), small snacks in between and limit my alcohol consumption.

As far as working out/fitness goes, they have a fitness center on the boat, so while I won't be getting my full workout in, I'll be spending an hour there for 3 days (I figure first and last days won't really allow time for it unless I'm willing to take that time away from the family...which I'm not), and for the other couple days of vacation, she and I plan on taking some walks (and we'll be swimming in the pools and other stuff...something we definitely can't do around here....so we'll actually be burning a little that we aren't used to).

I think she is kinda worried about it, but when I started to think about it this morning, I am thinking that this isn't going to be bad for us at all....in fact, while we may gain 1-3 lbs back by the end of the week, I'm guessing by the end of February we'lll both be 5-10 lbs less than where we are today (maybe that is wishful thinking, but from tracking our weight loss lately, I'm guessing that is pretty realistic).

Anybody have any critiques, suggestions, advice, etc. regarding this? Thanks in advance.

Sounds like a decent plan to me. Do what you like within reason and enjoy yourself.

I agree - go and have a good time. Have fun eating the great food without major binges. Keep active and working out.

Makes me want to go on a cruise.

honestly it sounds like you have a plan and you're focused on your fitness. You probably won't have any problems! Of course enjoy your vacation and just think about what you're eating and how hard you've worked to get to where you are!

Being moderate with the sweets and carbs should keep you from a huge gain. Enjoy!!!!

Sounds like a good plan - when we went our our cruise too we were able to at least get some walking in while aboard ship - one of the decks was designated for walking and was .33 of a mile in circumference.

Also, while the food is probably all free the alcohol probably isn't - that'll probably help you limit those calories as well. Boy do i miss the pizza they made at the pizzeria on that cruise - so good. :)
