Would it be worth...

Hey! I can't really afford a gym membership at the moment but I do just fine with exercise by making the most of my home (i.e step ups on the stairs, exercise dvd's, yoga apps for ipad ect) and so I was wondering... would it maybe be worth buying a cross trainer for my home? I currently have about £100 saved up for something and I thought maybe a cross trainer would be the way to go as you can buy some really cheap ones nowadays. Would it be worth doing this in the long run provided that I use it?
Also, how hard exactly is it for somebody who is overweight but good at long periods of exercise (I can do rowing for 20 mins before I need a break) for my size to use a cross trainer for about an hour at a time?
Thanks in advance!
