28 Day- No Carb Challenge

I'm wondering who'd like to take up the challenge of no carbs after 3 pm. I've seen it work and since everyone here is trying to achieve something ( mostly losing weight), why not do it together?

    Hii,

I try to avoid carbs after 6 pm, but I think I need some carbs to fulfill a strenuous workout.I try to run/jog/walk 5 km every morning empty stomach in 35 minutes.I am still a novice into this and i want to make lifestyle changes rather than going for difficult diets.
I love carbs and I go for brown bread or whole grain products.I think I can take up this challenge according to my needs, i.e. no carb after 6 p.m.Thanks

    Recipe Ideas:
    Tandoori Paneer( tikka
    paalak Paneer
    methi and paneer curry
    paneer do piaza
    paneer burji
    paneer tikka
    paneer tikka masala
    Grilled vegetables
Mix sabji without aalu and peas
    baingan ka bharta
    paalak paneer
    green beans paneer

    Gobi
    Mushrooms
    Soya

As paneer is protein, and a good form of dairy, you can have it at night. just try not to have more than 2 x2x1 inches of it.

    Alright I'll say it.

Not eating carbs after a certain time has absolutely ZERO effect on weight loss.

I would worry more about your daily macronutrient intake and less about the the timing of that intake.

I applaud your efforts to challenge yourself I just think that you should direct your efforts elsewhere in order to achieve your desired results.

    You're welcome.

I thought that since I lost 60 lbs (all while eating carbs at any time of day I pleased) my input might be warranted.

You said no carbs after 3PM. Every single item on this list of "dinner ideas" has carbs in it. Are you sure you know what carbs actually are? Fruit, vegetables, dairy, grains, nuts, seeds, all have carbs. The only real source of food with NO carbs is meat and oil. If you truly want to do no carbs after 3PM, then you can't eat anything on this list.

Actually, carbs are best eaten later in the day. When you first wake up, your body is very insulin sensitive and cortisol levels are high (which means your body is in fat burning mode). As soon as you eat anything, especially carbs, your insulin levels spike and your body's fat burning is shot for the day.

Fasting for at least a few hours after you wake up and eating low carb meals until later in the day are some good strategies. But that's just what I've found out doing my own research. \m/

  • Your right I always burn more in the AM. I dont eat until my cardio is done just a cup of coffee.

Because some people think that carbs make you fat, and that by eating lower or no carb you will lose more weight etc.

When in reality, all you lose is water weight... the absence of carbs has no effect on fat loss.
  • When are people going to realize it isn't the carbs making them fat, it is what we do to the carbs...butter them, fry them, cheese them etc. Everything in moderation.

im diabetic and i have to have healthy carbs to keep my blood sugar level. so after 3 is a no no! and how would this apply to a 3rd shifter anyhow. i can see maybe no eating after 6 or 7? but after 3 for a normal person sounds pretty lame. and most of those foods listed are not easy to find at walmart lol.
  • I do believe in low carb diet for losing large amounts of weight I just do not agree with the "oh I gotta eat all my carbs by noon" bit.
