Confused by Net/earned calories

Hi

I know this has been around before - but I can't find anything when I need it.

I am training for a Half Marathon. Last night my 14k run earned me 1300+ calories.
I ate well all day, my diary is open. BUT I still had 700 calories left.

I never eat all of them back, because I don't use a HRM so Endomondo is not exact, but I tend to play it safe and eat about half.

What is the deal with the Net calories?
