How do you eat when you are away?

I am leaving in a couple of hours for a long weekend away. I am away at least once a month. Those weekends are always such bad food weekends. I started off with a nice breakfast this morning, bringing healthy snacks with me to the airport. Then I will have a good hour or so at the other airport to wait for my ride. Then tonight is out with friends. Tomorrow is brunch and a hockey game. Sunday is Super Bowl. I have so much more control over my food and exercise when I am home. I'm getting nervous. All suggestions and advice are welcome.

Moderation, Moderation, Moderation. A couple of thoughts around Super Bowl. If it is a party people usually don't mind guests bringing something to share, bring along something healthy to snack on. You would probably be surprised to see that it is what goes pretty quickly. Also always have some water that you can sip on, this way you will always have something in your hand and can "snack" on the water. I find this works when traveling also, if I have water with me always I can drink it instead of snack because I am bored.0

Even when I am "good" while away, I always go over my calories. Water is a great idea. I do plan on bringing a nice vegie tray to the SB party, if I can find one. It's hard when it's not my home that I'm staying in.0

Yeah, I just try and alternate the unhealthy food with healthy food, alternate the beers with water, etc. Maybe try and limit some of the worst offenders (wings, chips, etc). It's no use trying to be perfect -- life is always going to present situations where you can't control everything. And booooooooooo to the party where I have to watch every calorie I eat, you know?
Just be aware that a lot of party food is high in sodium. There's a fair chance that if you indulge, you'll see a potential jump on the scale, because too much sodium makes you retain water (not that you gained that much fat in so short a time). That should go away after you drink lots more water and give it a couple days. Or just don't weigh yourself for at least a couple days after you get back and don't worry about it... good luck!0
