I've been training with uphill running and I want to add some weight so I can burn more calories. The weather is typically 0-25 degrees this type of year so a back pack would be near impossible over a jacket or multiple hoodies. I also have to deal with slippery conditions, so I need some ideas bounced off the wall that would be safe as possible as I huff it up the ruff terrain. I will need both hands free as I use them to scrap near the top. Ankle weights are out as I have RA and my ankle and knee joints would probably swell. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

look into a "weighted vest" you wear them over an undershirt, and they're pretty tight to your chest so your hoodies etc should still fit!

Echo on the weighted vest idea from jacque, or you might be able to find a weighted belt online.

Some form of harness with a tyre at the other end works for me but I do look abit of a tool.

I think the vest might be it. I also have a chemo port attached to my upper chest and I think that a harness strap could interfere with it.

    Thanks everyone for input. :)
