Hi there. Just found out the family is having Chinese food for dinner. Are there any healthier options? Particularly low in sodium? I lifted this morning and am already full of water....don't want to be overly bloated tomorrow. Thanks in advance for you suggestions!

Do you mean "healthy" or do you mean "low-calorie?" Most Chinese food is pretty healthy, but high calorie. If you avoid those things which are breaded and fried, then you've probably got a healthy meal. For me, I tend to go for the beef and broccoli or the Kung Pao chicken.
The lowest calorie would be steamed veggies with no rice or meat, but not worth it, imo. Choose a dish that is either chicken or seafood, ask for sauce on the side, and you'll be fine.0 -
I use the hibachi grill, load up on vegetables and shrimp and ask them to skip the oil and butter. select a seasoning I know islow or fat free, It is healthy and fllling and also tastes better than anything on the buffet. Fresh and tendercrisp with only my favorite things.0

I go for steamed foods. Like steamed veggies and chicken. This is what I get at PF Chang's it is called Budhas Delight (but I have them add chicken to it).0

Bump...I absolutely LOVE chinese food!0

I usually go for steamed dumplings or soup...but both are high in sodium. I also love moo shu pork but have to look up how bad it may be. I see a chicken with black bean sauce on the menu...that should be pretty safe....no? Looking mostly to keep the sodium down...not too worried about fat content today....0

Maybe not low sodium, but some healthier choices may be:
Grilled chicken or prawn skewers
Chicken lettuce wraps
Stir-frys with prawns, chicken, veggies (no sauces, rice or noodles)
Brown rice on the side0 -
Sodium in and of itself, is not bad for you. You need it to be healthy.
Broccoli Beef is low calorie and pretty dang yummy.0 -
Decided to go with the veggies with noodles....no sodium. Peanut sauce on the side....0

Fortune cookie is the heathiest chinese food you can get0

Ever notice how you don't see many fat Chinese people working at those places? Pay attention to what they eat whenever you see one of them doing so. I can assure you, it don't be General Tso's chicken that he/she's shoving in his/her mouth.0
