    BMI is crap, it do#s not take bone organs or muscle into consideration, I know bodybuilders that would be considered over weight or obese when they are clearly not, so dont go by BMI.

    Thanks everyone - it's so inspirational reading your comments and knowing I'm not the only one finding this bloody hard. Can anyone tell me roughly how much calories they personally need to lose it slowly? I've been eating around 1200-1500 a day for as long as I can remember, without much exercise and haven't lost a pound. According to my BMR I could eat 1455 cals a day without moving and not gain weight. BS to that I would be obese!!

    I'm in this position too, only have a few pounds to lose, but have a good 4 or so inches to lose from my waist and a long way to go to reduce to a healthy fat%...need to start weight training but have a knee injury so exercise has fallen by the wayside unfortunately and I'm finding it hard to motivate myself.
