I measure mine at the belly button but I know others who measure at the smallest part of their stomach. Where am I suppose to measure?

I think that waist itself means the smallest part. By the belly button is stomach, not waist, I think.

I measure at my belly button so I know I'm measuring in the same place every time. I do same thing with my thigh. I have a birthmark on my mid-thigh, so that is the landmark I use for consistency.

Your waist is the natural indent above your belly button...I measure both because my middle is my problem area...

You are supposed to measure your stomach just above the belly button, at the smallest part. Then you measure your hips below the belly button, at the widest part.

I measure at the narrowest part. However, as long as you measure in the same place every time, you'll have a good record of what your midsection is doing. The consistency is much more important than exactly what point you measure.

You you should measure the smallest part. I know for me, around the belly button is not the smallest part so I don't measure there. To keep the consistency of the measuring bend to one side while standing up. The natural crease that forms on the side of the abdomen that you are bending towards is your natural waist. You should measure from there.
