...carbs or proteins? But you stay at or below the calorie intake...
Will it impede weight loss? Does it make you sick? Is it dangerous? And how do you usually budget these things?

No, Calories are king. Going over slightly on any of your macros will be ok.0

Totally agree with this ^^^0 -
Was wondering the exact same thing normally pretty good at fitting in my macros but noticed my fat was in the minus angle today even though i've 200 calories left....is it a bad thing i went over on fat?0

I have my macros set at 45%Fat/ 30%Carbs/ 25%Protein.
It's more important to make sure you are getting enough fat, and protein. Think of them as minimum numbers to hit.
You can look at the default settings and change them to suit you here:

For weight loss, it's more important to stay at your calorie goal than to worry too much about the macros. I just set mine that way because it's how I eat naturally, and how I feel best.0 -
For me protein and fats.. No problem. Over carbs? Weight loss stops! X0

Well.. is there a point when fat is too much despite staying under the calorie limit? Just curious .
Thanks for replies though It helps.0 -
I'm interested to see what others with a better understanding of nutrition (than me) have to say..
I mean, if you ate say 80% fat, 10% carbs, 10% protein (e.g - lived off of oil or something?!!) then I would expect you'd hve a very different body to someone who ate 80% protein...! But I would have no idea where the borderline would be...0 -
All of those things should be fine. It is going over on sodium that makes me gain pounds overnight.0

I've seen many people with fat intake percentages in the 60% range.People who eat Paleo or Primal - often their fat macros are really high. Fat doesn't make you fat. Excess calories do.
You could google that. But I don't think you would eat too much fat on a regular basis - it's kind of upsetting to the stomach to try to live off fat. I've been known to eat way way over. It won't hurt you. And it won't affect your weight unless you are also over on calories for a few days.0 -

10% protein is not enough, however if all the calories from the above are burned off, the person will not gain weight or body fat. The problems if someone's living off oil, is that they will not be getting enough protein, fibre, vitamins or minerals. 10% carbs is not enough unless the person is very inactive. Fat can only fuel activity up to a certain level, you need carbs in your system for higher intensity exercise. Insufficient protein, vitamins and minerals will lead (ultimately) to nutritional deficiency disease and a lack of fibre will usually make someone constipated but I'd imagine huge quantities of pure oil might cause diarrhoea
I eat 40% carb, 30% protein and 30% fat and I do very well on that, and include plenty of fruit and veg for the micronutrients.
The limiting factor is not that eating lots of fat will harm you, it's that if you use all your calories up on fat you will not have room for the other nutrients your body needs, without going over on calories.0 -

I'm pretty much the same on macros, 40% fat , or at least 50 grams.0 -

I will keep this in mind0 -

Fats, I eat about 35%, I consistently go over. Many vitamins are fat soluble, it's good to eat fat.
Carbs are great for energy. They can turn to glycogen (a kind of fuel) and help your muscles repair.0
