Advice Needed: Should I workout tomorrow?

Generally I workout 5 days in a row, take a day off. This week I've gone 6 days in a row- felt very motivated by the fact I lost 3 lbs this week when I weighed in this morning. I should have taken the day off and gone tomorrow as scheduled. Now I'm debating whether or not to go tomorrow... any other Sunday it would be forgone conclusion, take the day off. But I know that tomorrow I will be eating pizza & wings & a couple other not so healthy things (fortunately I don't drink)... so the idea of skipping a workout then eating like crap is kind of bothering me. But should I give the body a rest? I feel pretty good, little tired, little sore but no more than usual. Just so you know... I work out pretty hard... I consistently do at least 1.5-2 hours a day broken up between cardio and strength.

I would really appreciate some advice. Thanks!

Go on however you feel. If you feel like you can have a tear down kick *kitten* session, go for it. If you feel like a can of smashed *kitten*, take a day off.

I'd say with your success, you must pretty well know your body by now! Do what you feel good doing. :flowerforyou:

I generally don't even take days off. I take days where I go for an easy walk instead of a 5 mile run, but I feel much better doing SOMETHING, especially if I am going to eat crap. I'm planning on going for an extra run tomorrow just to prepare for the Superbowl party, and it IS supposed to be my walk day. So. Yeah. Just listen to your body. Seems like you've been doing this a while and definitely know what's up! :)

Lol, billsica... by no means an expert and stiil have those moments of doubt, oh crap I'm doing it wrong.

You hear so much about giving your body a chance to rest... and I think that is mostly why I do 5, take a day off. And I know even if I go tomorrow, I won't skip Monday because Tuesday I will be on the road so won't be able to go.

And my new favorite phrase is going to be "feeling like a can of smashed *kitten*", thanks Gallowmere.

The only good reason to work out tomorrow is that if not doing so will make you feel bad or diminish your enjoyment of the treats. In those situations, I wait until decision time and see how I feel. If I were to work out, it would probably be just enough to make me feel better and not too strenuous. It's not going to make any long term difference either way.

I knew I might over do it tomorrow at a Super Bowl party, so I worked out for 2 1/2 hours today as a preemptive calorie burn. It was fun and I enjoyed it. Bet I sleep well tonight, too. Do whatever seems best.

I get what you mean about wanting to work out, but do beware of over working yourself. If you feel like you need to workout, maybe only do half an hour so as not to overwork yourself, but if you wake up and feel okay about having a rest day I would take a rest day. It depends how you feel to be honest.

I think this is my favorite response I have ever read on MFP....

And I agree 100% and I too will now be saying I feel like a can of smashed *kitten*....LOL
