sodium and sugar from fruit...how important are they???

How important is it to keep track of sodium? I find that I go over the allowed 2500 mg almost every day. Also, I've had people tell me that fruit sugar is fine and others tell me that sugar is sugar and it's bad.

I don't track sugars, and unless you've a medical condition that requires it, I wouldn't worry about it. I try to keep my sodium under most days. If you're eating processed food (No, I'm not a EAT CLEAN OR DIE type) it's hard to not go over the sodium.

yup. barring medical reasons, neither is really necessary to track.

    I agree.

And yes, sugar is sugar BUT sugar in fruit comes along with a healthy dose of good stuff like fibre, vitamins etc. Sugar in (for example) a coke does not.

I don't really eat processed foods or things like canned/ frozen meals, so my sodium is pretty low - usually less than 1,500mg/day, so I don't really pay much attention to it because I know I'm good.

Fruit is good. Natural things are good. Processed junk is not. Eat fruit.

And not all sugar is sugar. I want to strangle the people that made the stupid high fructose corn syrup commercial. HFCS = stay away.

you know that sugar is pretty much the same as HFCS in terms of proportions, right?
