Calories burned on elliptical

Hello all. I'm really confused. I have an elliptical machine and today I did a 45 minute work out. It was on a 30% incline and it was a series of steep hills maxing out a a level 10 difficulty. According to the elliptical machine, I burned 850 calories. According to MFP, I burned 451, but there is only a general "elliptical" choice that doesn't account for incline or difficulty. Which of these counts should I use? I weigh 150, if that makes a difference. It's such a huge difference in calorie amount, I'm afraid of underrating by 400 calories and sending my body into hunger mode. What are your thoughts?

You're not going to send your body into "hunger mode" because that isn't actually a real thing.
Personally I'd log the smaller amount.0
