How do you handle eating at friends's house for dinner?

The few days in which I have really gone over my calorie goals were eating out at restaurants, PMSing, and eating at friends homes. I expected the eating out at restaurants to be a challenge. I was surprised by how ferocious my appetite was while PMSing. But eating out at friends I thought would not be so challenging!!! Even with being concientious of my portion sizes it is still a challenge and I blow my calorie count for the day. I haven't told my friends yet that I am making changes but I want to learn to deal with situations that arise in normal day to day life. Do I just not worry if I have a day that I go over now and then as long as I try to keep things in check as much as possible?

Maybe the key is preparing in advance for those visits? Anytime I know I'm heading out with friends or over to family's house to eat...I always eat slim that day...because I know me, and I know them...it won't be easy to eat clean. But for the most part, the portions sizes will help you keep it in check. Look at it with a little broader vision...may for a week at a time...yes, today I did bad...but I can stay well under the next two days...netting a small loss in the end of the week...and as long as there is a loss you will continue to lose weight. Eventually you will learn what is working for you...and then you will have the keys to transforming yourself!! Keep at it!!0
