Trying to Build Muscle

I'm a 45 year old female trying to build muscle and need some help/motivation. What worked for you....pics would be great if you have them. Thanks!

    If you have access to a gym:
    Look into Starting Strengths, Stronglifts, or New Rules of Lifting For Women.
    (I personally suggest the first two, having made it through the first stage of NROLFW, it's very complicated and gets more so. The other two are simpler)

    Don't be afraid of the free weights.

    If you don't have access to a gym:
    Look into Nerdfitness' bodyweight circuits, You are your own gym.

    This woman just hit 40 and has built muscle. I'm giving you the link to her blog since she talks about it and posts pictures all the time.
