changed my profile to lose 1.5 pounds per week

I've been doing my weight loss program for 5 weeks and finding it very do-able. But, my fitness pal just cut my calories down by 86 calories. I was allowed to eat 1286 calories and now they brought me to 1200 calories. If I cut out 86 calories, which doesn't seem like much, I'm afraid that i will not be able to do it and end up falling off the wagon. So, I went back and changed my goal to lose 1.5 pounds per week and it gave me back my 86 calories. I'd rather lose this weight slower than to fall off the wagon. I need my late night healthy snack every night.

Sounds like a good idea. We all would love to change our bodies as fast as possible, but slow, sustainable changes are often the ones that last. Even 1.5 pounds per week is great! I lose an average of .5 lb. per week, but I'm getting leaner and looking better, so I don't worry about the scale.

    Keep up the good work!

I totally agree with you there, but since I've started working out more often I find that I can eat a nit more and it helps keep me energized and not so lethargic.
  • It's definitely more about how you're feeling than the number on the scale  Sounds like you're on the right track!

I used to be a 1200 calorie person...I would get stuck so often at a weight. since I bumped my calories up I have started to loose consistently again. so do what works for you! and listen to your body. it will tell you if your eating enough or not.

Sounds like the right attitude to me!! Good job! You might also wanna look up TDEE-20%, you get even more with that guideline. Good luck!
