Portable snack that is higher in protein, lower in carbs

I hope this one hasn't been asked too many times. I've been searching and I find tons of protein bars, etc. All with a lot of carbs and fat and salt along with them.
I have protein powder that is reasonable that I'm going to use in the mornings, when I have the blender and stuff to mix it in right there, but I need something that is more portable and doesn't really require a lot of preparation. I'm trying to increase my protein, with not so many carbs and not so much fat. I'm more concerned about carbs than fat, however.
Also, for this particular purpose, something portable, like a protein bar would be a lot better. I also live in the middle nowhere, my grocery store is not well stocked, and I live on a fixed income. (I don't know why they call it a fixed income when I'm always broke.) I do order a lot of stuff from Amazon.
So, does anyone have any good suggestions of a snack that is higher in protein, not so much in fat, and lower in carbs, that isn't loaded with salt, that is reasonably portable, not very expensive that I can order online? Maybe around 100-150 calories?
I don't want much, do I?
Thank you.

I am in no way affiiliated with them but .... GoBites.com
I also need healthy easy snacks and bars just get old after a while and I get sick of eating them. I like these - they are different and well priced.0 -
When I am out and about and hungry, I'll usually buy peanuts as a snack. They are usually pretty cheap and if you are lucky they will carry the unsalted kind.0

Quest protein bars are pretty awesome, and most of the carbs in them are fiber.
Bodybuilding.com sells them at pretty reasonable prices, especially if you buy a bunch at a time, which offsets the shipping cost.
You might want to hit up a local GNC first, grab one of each flavor, and see which you like, if you decide to go with them, before buying a bunch. Also, keep in mind that there's two lines. Ones without sugar alcohol, but higher calories, and ones with SA, but lower cals.
ETA: just noticed the middle of nowhere part. You can also order individual Quest bars from several places.0 -
There's also a lot of site like this popping up - http://www.youbars.com/buildabar/0

Beef jerky. You can even make your own pretty cheaply and control the salt content.0

I second the Quest Bars.0

I like the nutrition profile of the Quest bars. They are kind of expensive, but if I alternate them with something simple like nuts or trail mix I think it will work. I will order the sampler pack and see what they are like.
Thanks for the responses. If anyone else has any idea's, I'm all ears.
Oh, PS. It appears that the Quest bars are about the same price on Amazon as they are on bodybuilders.com, and they are an Amazon Prime item, which means they ship for free. (And in 2 days if you are an Amazon Prime subscriber.)0
