Scrambled eggs- how do you know?

Family's having a Sunday breakfast with scrambled eggs, and I'm at a loss to try and figure out my portions for the eggs- everything's listed as '1 egg' or '2 eggs', nothing using cup or weight measurements. Can anyone suggest a decent alternative- like if I were to take 1/3 cup of scrambled eggs, how many calories/cholesterol/etc am I looking at?

  • I think it depends on what they use to oil the pan.. butter and oils add calories to the eggs.
  • But honestly.. i wouldn't worry about the calories for that.. just portion it out.. 1/3 cup like you said and then eat healthy foods for the rest of the day.

If you can figure out how many eggs were cooked total and how much oil or butter they were cooked in you can add that to a custom recipe and try to make an estimate of what percentage you ate. Say 6 eggs are used and there are 3 people, you'll probably want to add 6 eggs to the recipe and set the serving size for 3, then add 1 serving of it. Which comes out to 2 eggs.

Some times you have to eyeball it, and hope for the best. Eggs are light enough in calories you'll have a difference of 10-15 cals.. not that big of a deal at the end of the day. Do 3 jumping jacks or something just in case .
