Scooby doo I haven't got a clue

I could really do with some sensible advice on my daily calorie consumption.
Facts about me:
Weight 162 lb
Height 5.65
Body fat just under 32%
Age 39
My initial goal weight is 153 lb (10%) reduction from start point. My ultimate long term goal is 140lb
Hoping to lose each week, 1 lb to start with but then less as I lose the pure fat build up that I have gained.
MFP has recommended that I consume 1350 cals per day which I can hit and feel full on as long as I am eating the right food.
I have a very busy desk job and I currently can't fit in any decent exercise.
I don't do zero effort but I don't count a quick 5 minute walk to kids breakfast club or a dash up and down stairs as meaningful exercise so recorded my lifestyle as sedentary.
Once my job hopefully calms down a bit and i can start excercising I plan to eat back my logged exercise calories although I would prob scale down the MFP calories as they seem a little on the high side to me (my opinion only).
Fat2fit calcs are:
BMR 1450
TDEE 1740
TDEE -20% 1392
Scooby fitness is slightly lower but it seems that at 1350 I am eating slightly too little? Is that right? I have read on these forums that I should never eat below my BMR.
I think to interpret this I should be eating min of 1392 per day up to a max of 1740 is that correct please?
I also assume I should get MFP to recalc my daily allowances each 5 lb I lose. It hasn't prompted me to yet.
I do appreciate any help you can give me on this
Thank you
Jane

You don't have a lot of weight to lose in this context. How about TDEE -10% which will keep you above your BMR and just prolong your goals by a couple of weeks. If you had 50-100 lbs or so to lose then you can run at greater deficits and even below your BMR because you would have a lot of fat calories available to run your engine.
Just a suggestion.0 -
Thanks that makes sense0

I would (and do) go with what MFP gave me for -1 pound per week because all of these calculations are averages. They don't represent your individual numbers, just an average for the population with similar statistics to you. As you know, an individual can be below the average or above the average.
That's why I'm starting with MFP numbers, anticipating that I may have to tweak calories a bit if I'm not getting results.0 -

Yes I agree that these are averages all these numbers are confusing to newbies ☺0
