Commitment

Many of us today commit time, resources and energies to our spouses/significant others, children, jobs, hobbies and even our favorite TV shows. So I asked myself...am I committed to truly making this lifestyle change for me? The answer is YES - I decided that if I'm committed to doing this for myself, it will make me stronger and more willing to commit to others in my life.
One definition I found for the word COMMITMENT that is truly motivating: the state of being obligated or EMOTIONALLY IMPELLED.
So today, I keep committing to do this! Are you?
Just a thought I wanted to share.

Begrudgingly. Begrudgingly, grumpily so today. But I've not been at all paying attention this week and know that one week turns into two and before I know it, I'm up those 20 pounds I've worked so hard to lose. Truth be told, feels somewhat good to make the conscience decision to return to goal.
But I know it's not the first nor the last week I'll lose sight of what I'm trying to do. That's okay. Time takes time - and assuming I'm not dying anytime soon - I've got the time. May as well make it count, even if I'm not feeling it.
I don't have to feel motivated for this to work. I just need to do it and the results will follow. It is nice to see this, though. A good reminder of why we are all here. It's always good to see that.0 -

I'm with you! I'm learning new ways to cook, and better ingredients to choose for my meals. I am learning how to make better choices at work and what my triggers are for making poor choices! I am committed to making this a change in how I live my life, and not a temporary diet change. This is a new, healthier lifestyle...and I am going to be a healthier, fitter person!!0
