Commitment

Many of us today commit time, resources and energies to our spouses/significant others, children, jobs, hobbies and even our favorite TV shows. So I asked myself...am I committed to truly making this lifestyle change for me? The answer is YES - I decided that if I'm committed to doing this for myself, it will make me stronger and more willing to commit to others in my life.

One definition I found for the word COMMITMENT that is truly motivating: the state of being obligated or EMOTIONALLY IMPELLED.

So today, I keep committing to do this! Are you?

Just a thought I wanted to share.

Begrudgingly. Begrudgingly, grumpily so today. But I've not been at all paying attention this week and know that one week turns into two and before I know it, I'm up those 20 pounds I've worked so hard to lose. Truth be told, feels somewhat good to make the conscience decision to return to goal.

But I know it's not the first nor the last week I'll lose sight of what I'm trying to do. That's okay. Time takes time - and assuming I'm not dying anytime soon - I've got the time. May as well make it count, even if I'm not feeling it.

I don't have to feel motivated for this to work. I just need to do it and the results will follow. It is nice to see this, though. A good reminder of why we are all here. It's always good to see that.

I'm with you! I'm learning new ways to cook, and better ingredients to choose for my meals. I am learning how to make better choices at work and what my triggers are for making poor choices! I am committed to making this a change in how I live my life, and not a temporary diet change. This is a new, healthier lifestyle...and I am going to be a healthier, fitter person!!
