Hi everyone. I joined mfp a few months ago with the intention of getting back onto a healthy diet. Last week I actually started up again.

I've done almost every diet out there with limited success. Last year I did my first calorie based diet from May till Sept and lost almost 20 lbs!! Unfortunately the holidays got to my routine and I gained about 10 of that back. I've decided it is time to actually get back on the wagon and loose this weight for good!

A little wisdom from a guy who has failed more than he has succeeded in weight loss.

Diets don't work only a nutrient balanced meal plan that your comfortable with for the rest of your life. Make sure you get your recommended daily calorie intake and at least 30 minutes of exercise a day to keep your metabolic rate up. I discovered this when I was jogging at 19 and had great weight loss but after some bad advice from a relative I stopped and little by little the weight came back.

If you don't mind me asking - what was the bad advice?
