Can't lose weight when husband is home.

The last two times my husband has deployed, I've lost 20lb and 10lbs, respectively. Everytime he comes home, the weight comes back on. I'm now up 6lbs since he came home in November, 10lbs from my goal weight (which I hit sometime in july).
Obviously this is extremely frustrating. I find it harder to track and measure the food when he is home, either because we eat out a lot or he has prepared food that I don't know the nutrition of. He also is blessed with a wonderful metabolism that makes gaining weight impossible for him.
I know I can't pin this on him 100% and I really should clean up my eating, cut carbs, etc. We have been doing 5x5 since the end of December, but I'm only seeing weight gain and no loss of inches despite my strength gains.
Please tell me I'm not alone.

I experience the same thing, my husband works away every summer. I gain weight while he's home.
I have no idea what to do either, it's torture to watch him eat whatever he wants.0 -
i have been trying to get out of the house/room while he snacks to avoid the temptation.0

I don't think you can pin it on him at all. Just do what you do when he's gone and let him eat whatever he wants.0 -

I understand your dilemma. When my fiance used to come home from a deployment going from the way I was eating to eating dinners with him and eating out etc is kinda hard, but really you just have to push through. You don't have to eat what he does or how much he does. Just remember, if you eat like crap now you'll just regret it later. Kind of takes the fun out of it.0 -
Learn to cook some new dishes so that there is a real incentive to eat at home.
Ignore his snacking - he has a higher metabolism just by virtue of being a guy. There have been a few threads lately about strategies for living in a household with very different caloric needs. Make sure you have your own snacks if that will help you stay away from his.
Make smart choices when you go out to eat. My man often eats half of what is on my plate, so on those days portion control is easy!
Make sure you are keeping up with your exercise! It doesn't have to be your normal routine, if there is something active he will do with you, that is still exercise!0
