Add some fuel and advice to my fire!

I've felt terrible for the past two months. The holidays are hard on a lot of us and then other things get added to your plate and I just completely put my healthy lifestyle to the back of my mind. I started out my weight loss journey at 230 and I lost 30 pounds in about 6 months and then I started my first year of teaching. I gained around 5 pounds through 3 months of teaching and then the holidays hit and I've added 3-4 pounds to that. Today when I weighed myself I was so worried that I was going to be at 212, but I was at 209 and I don't know why but I felt so excited! I feel so motivated to get back on track and do this again. I can't afford a gym membership and I've been using that as my excuse, but I didn't have a membership before and I did great.

Basically, I'm doing this with the support of my husband but we see each other for 2 hours a day since he works a night shift at the hospital. It's snowy outside and I live in an apartment. What are your tips for me for working out in the winter and in an apartment? How do you stay true and committed to MFP, I feel like at the end of the day it's the least of my worries, but my health should be the first of my worries!

What is your daily schedule like with meal planning, work, exercise, etc?

Don't get discouraged by the things you don't have or can't do. Think about the things you can do, and get on it. Little by little it is better then nothing. Besides, it would be too hard on yourself to expect big improvements with your limitations.

Set your goals. Work on a menu and meals that you know are a good match. Do some cardio at home, maybe get an elliptical, or do some squats or get a rubber band and do some workouts with those, they are great.

Set yourself some good 45 mins of exercise daily... or as you feel it works for you to get started.

Does your apartment have a fitness center at all? I'm an apartment dweller and I have been using the fitness center here since they put new machines in. (I realize not every apartment dweller lives in a huge complex like mine...)

DVDs. If you live on an upper floor and are worried that you will disturb the people below you with vigorous exercise, choose yoga or other types of exercise you can do without having to jump up and down/bang around on the floor. If you live on an upper floor, take the stairs instead of the elevator when you can. (In fact, do that any time you have to go from one floor to another at work or whatever.)

What type of rec center or community center does your town/city/neighborhood have? As a teacher you may qualify for a discount! Also check the nearby community colleges, if you have any -- the one where I work has a fitness center and pool which are open to the public for very nominal fees that you just pay each time you go, so you don't need to budget for a montly membership you might or might not use.

Park far from the store when you go shopping. It's hard when it's cold and you want to just get in the warm building, but giving yourself a little further to walk builds in a little movement.

And hang in there...spring's comin' :)

Ok. first, please stop calling it a journey.

Second, look up couch 2 5k and go outside and run. its free.

third, just get into the habit of tracking and go from there.

There are a lot of people on this site who do not basically have all night to go work out and meal plan. If you want this you got to man up and go for it, no one is going to do it for you. I wish there was a nice way to do it. If I had my way, I'd go over to your house every morning at 6am with my screaming kid and yell, "get the eff out of bed and go make breakfast and run, GO GO GO!"

    People love me.

Yoga is a great idea! My apartment complex doesn't have a rec center, I live in a really small town so the apartments are pretty much old houses converted. I've been doing 30 Day Shred, but I am worried I make a lot of noise jumping, so yoga would be great! The weather is getting much nicer here so I'm very happy that I have been able to go outside for walks, the fresh air is wonderful!
